Breaking Down Our Mudroom Makeover

Moody Mudroom Makeover

All the details you really want to know.

We had the opportunity to engage creatively with our clients in designing their mudroom space! They envisioned a moody yet playful atmosphere, and we were thrilled to bring that vision to life. Our goal was to enhance the functionality of the space through custom storage solutions and seating, complemented by updated lighting, paint, and decor.

This particular room has garnered significant attention and frequently arises in conversations with prospective clients. Comments such as, “Oh, I loved that green paint color you used in that mudroom,” or “I LOVE that bird wallpaper!” and, “I want a brick floor like that one!” resonate with us. We truly appreciate this feedback, but we also feel compelled to clarify some aspects regarding realistic timelines and costs.

It is common, even for us, to scroll through Pinterest and admire stunning spaces without considering the complexities involved in their creation. Often, these inspiring images lack before-and-after comparisons, making it challenging to understand the labor, timelines, and intricacies associated with such projects. This mudroom serves as an ideal case study to provide insight into a topic that many are curious about: what does it actually cost?

Is it becoming clearer how the costs can quickly escalate in a room of this size, potentially leading to exceeding the budget? Throughout the entire process, we maintained transparency with our clients. While they were aware of the budget prior to any orders, they were also informed that this particular area could incur costs close to $25,000.

Discussions regarding budget are often the most challenging conversations with clients. This is precisely why we inquire about your overall budget during our initial consultations: to assist you effectively. Our goal is never to mislead anyone; rather, it is our responsibility to communicate budgetary constraints clearly to our clients, advising them on where adjustments may be necessary or what elements might need to be modified.

This room turned out truly beautiful & we are so excited to share it with you.
